Duisburg/Gdynia (Poland), April 8, 2025. PCC Intermodal S.A. has assumed market leadership in intermodal transportation in its home market Poland. This follows from figures for 2024 published by the Polish Railway Authority. Accordingly, the PCC Group company was the largest Polish provider of combined container transport by rail and road, accounting for 19.6% of freight revenue and 17.4% of the transported freight weight. PCC Intermodal S.A. operates international intermodal transport with five own container terminals in Poland and Germany.
Overall, PCC Intermodal S.A. concluded the past fiscal year very successfully. The PCC Group company increased revenue by 19.5% to EUR 155.8 million and EBITDA by 39.4% to EUR 24.0 million. The company increased container throughput, with increasing demand for routes from the Polish seaports of Gdańsk and Gdynia. At the beginning of 2024, PCC Intermodal S.A. put its own locomotives into operation for transports at its own terminal in Frankfurt (Oder) and from there to the border bridge to Poland. In the long term, this “insourcing” is to be further expanded, leading to additional efficiency and thus margin improvements.
