Production capability for PU systems in Essen, Germany

The objective is to expand our Polyurethane Systems business within the Polyols segment. The sale of PU systems, previously distributed primarily within the Polish market, is to be internationalized. And in order to drive forward this marketing expansion process throughout the German-speaking region and also in the Benelux countries, in 2014 we founded the company […]

Patiška small hydropower plant

The Patiška small hydropower plant began commercial operations in December 2014. Today the facility supplies electricity to some 800 households. Construction was significantly delayed initially by local political interests. However, we were able to overcome these challenges by, among other things, sponsoring a social project. This involved renewing some 2,000 metres of the main street […]

Mujada small hydropower plant

Work on our first climate protection project, the small hydropower plant in Mujada, Central Bosnia, started in 2007. It was hooked up to the grid at full load in February 2009.

Small hydropower plants in Bosnia and Herzegovina

This project started in November 2010. Once commissioned, our four small hydropower plants in Bosnia and Herzegovina (including the Mujada facility already in service), will result an aggregate installed capacity in excess of 5 megawatts. A number of permits has meanwhile been granted, in particular for Poljanice 1. However, due to the extremely slow approval […]

Gradečka small hydropower plant

Building work on the Gradečka facility, PCC’s first small hydropower plant in North Macedonia, started in July 2012. Occasionally tough weather conditions and the rocky ground hampered the excavation work in particular. Nevertheless, the construction phase was successfully concluded just about one year later, with commercial electricity production commencing in August 2013.

Galičnik small hydropower plant

The small hydropower plant at our Galičnik site in North Macedonia was granted its operating licence on October 21, 2014, just two years after construction commencement. With the power purchase agreement now in force, the facility has been feeding renewable electricity into the grid on the basis of the “Privileged Producer” tariff, supplying around 1,000 […]

Brajčino small hydropower plant

We commissioned the small hydropower plant at the Brajčino site in May 2014. Difficult ground conditions in the water catchment area were discovered in good time during the construction phase, and the necessary blasting work was duly carried out. The height difference between the Brajčino turbine house and the water catchments located above it measures […]

Kriva Reka small hydropower plant

The project at the Kriva Reka (“meandering river”) power plant site is our fifth in North Macedonia. Following the extensive planning phase, the construction of the small hydro power plant started in October 2017. We acquired the concession for this small hydropower plant in September 2012. We submitted the development plan to the Macedonian government […]

Chlorine production: Switch to membrane technology

Commissioning the second membrane electrolysis plant in April 2015 completed the transition of chlorine production to the modern, ecologically sound membrane technology. Using this technology enables a reduction of CO2 emissions by 140,000 tonnes annually from May 2015 onward. Having finished this investment project, we were able to comply with the EU requirement to decommission […]

PCC Rokita SA: New plant for flame retardant production

The purpose of building the plant was to increase production capacity. PCC Rokita SA is a significant producer of phosphorus-based flame retardants for PU foams in Poland. With this capability we can also, for example, improve the flameproof properties of rigid foams manufactured with our polyols.
