Duisburg, February 3, 2022. With another donation of 10,000 euros, PCC is supporting the association Gemeinsam gegen Kälte Duisburg e.V. as in previous years. The volunteer staff of the non-profit association have been helping people in Duisburg who are homeless or threatened by homelessness for 25 years. In the past two years, the Corona pandemic has made the situation of homeless people even more difficult, so the commitment of Gemeinsam gegen Kälte Duisburg e.V. is currently particularly necessary. Ulrike Warnecke, board member of PCC SE, handed over the donation check on February 3, 2022 at PCC’s headquarters in Duisburg-Homberg to the management of Gemeinsam gegen Kälte Duisburg. “The association Gemeinsam gegen Kälte Duisburg tirelessly helps people who many others, including state institutions, no longer reach,” said Ulrike Warnecke. “In this time still shaped by the Corona pandemic, the help is all the more important. We are now supporting the voluntary commitment of Gemeinsam gegen Kälte Duisburg for the fourth time in a row – a cherished tradition and once again a great pleasure for us.”

The founder and chairman of the non-profit association, Kurt Schreiber, explained: “The renewed generous donation from PCC is a stroke of luck for us. We depend on donations for our medical and social care work, as our association does not receive any public funds or other regular subsidies.” A large part of PCC SE’s multiple donations has so far enabled the financing of operational vehicles. Thus, a new KälteBus (cold bus) could be purchased and the MediBus for medical care of homeless people could be completely overhauled. The two vehicles are an important pillar of the association’s mobile assistance concept. The volunteer staff seek out those in need several times a week throughout the year. With the KälteBus care mobile, they provide homeless people with clothing and food, among other things. The MediBus ambulance provides medical care to people on the street with a team of doctors and nurses. This care particularly helps people who are not insured or have little access to doctors’ offices or hospitals. With this donation, PCC underlines its social commitment in the vicinity of its group headquarters. PCC has been supporting social and community initiatives for many years – both in Duisburg and internationally. In Duisburg, for example, PCC has been the main sponsor of the regional league team VfB Homberg e.V. since 2003 and is the namesake of the PCC Stadium. In the social sector, in addition to the association Gemeinsam gegen Kälte Duisburg, PCC has also supported the German Child Protection Association in Duisburg in recent years. In Poland, group companies such as PCC Rokita SA and PCC Exol SA have been awarded multiple times in international rankings for socially responsible corporate action (Corporate Social Responsibility, CSR).
